He has received awards, including the Walter Koschatzky Art Prize and the STRABAG Art Award International.

    mariane ibrahim, a french-somali gallerist, has become a leading art dealer in chicago and internationally. she spotlights african diaspora artists, representing trailblazing contemporaries. her galleries are in chicago, paris and mexico city; and she was awarded the Ordre Des Arts et Des Lettres in 2021 by the French Ministry of Culture.

    nish mcmree is an art patron, collector, and founder of The Cowrie Culture, an art advocacy platform. she curated solo exhibitions for artists and presented an online exhibition of emerging artists. her advocacy for contemporary african diaspora art has been featured in various publications, and she lives in accra, ghana.

  • derek fordjour

    derek fordjour, a graduate of morehouse college, is an artist of ghanaian heritage. he has been awarded several artist residencies and fellowships, including the 2018 Deutsche Bank NYFA Fellowship Award. his work has been reviewed in various publications and is held in the collections of several museums. fordjour is also the founder of the contemporary arts memphis summer fellowship program and has served as a critic at yale university school of art.

    larry ossei-mensah is a curator and co-founder of the nonprofit ARTNOIR, which aims to promote racial equity in the art world. he has organized exhibitions worldwide, featuring artists such as steve mcqueen and judy chicago. ossei-mensah recently curated boafo's debut museum solo exhibition and co-curated "Unmasking Masculinity for the 21st.”
